Pop-Up Blockers: Old Sat Dec 24, 2005 5:39:54 AM #14047 Perm Link
Well, everyone NEEDS a pop-up blocker these days because theyre all over the web. I personally suggest PanicWare Pop-up stopper. It stops all popups. Only problems I have had is that it blocks alot of windows in Firefox that I click on. I think its mostly meant for IE.

others I use:
Google Toolbar
Microsoft popup Blocker

If you wanna check your software, http://www.popuptest.com/

I didn't let any through

Firefox + Adblock is really all you need.

When I used to use IE, I used a popup blocker called EMS Freesurfer MK II because it was recommended on some show on TechTV. Now, with Firefox, there is a built-in popup blocker so I don't need a third party one. The new IE is pretty nice at blocking most popups, though.

The thing I dont like about IE's popup blocker is that it takes so long to let a certain popup through that it has blocked.

The thing I don't like about IE's popup blocker is that you have to be using IE to use it.

Panicware's pop-up stopper is the best by far. Before that I used something called Pop Up Manager, but it didn't stop the most annoying popups, and especially the pop-unders.
