Tree.com Signs Definitive Agreement to Sell Certain Assets to Discover Financial Services

CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Tree.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: TREE), today announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to sell substantially all of the operating assets of its Home Loan Center subsidiary to Discover Financial Services (NYSE: DFS), headquartered in Riverwoods, Illinois for a net purchase price of approximately $55.9 million. 

Home Loan Center, which operates as LendingTree Loans, a correspondent lending company, originates and processes consumer mortgage loans in all fifty states and the District of Columbia. The sale will add a home loan component to Discover's direct-to-consumer banking products, which include credit cards, personal loans, private student loans, certificates of deposit, savings accounts and Roth individual retirement accounts.

"This move enables us to bring more focus to our core lead generation business at a time when demand for LendingTree leads is particularly strong. T-Mobile and AT&T Merger Likely

I've been following this in horror as it continues to unfold. Don't get me wrong, I think two companies should be allowed to enter into a contract if they should so desire. It just sucks for T-Mobile's customers. I had AT&T before I switched to T-Mo and I know they suck really really hard. I have no intention of remaining a customer if this goes through. I want to thank TmoNews for following this so closely and accurately. I also think they've done an excellent job of voicing the T-Mobile customer opinion. They were referenced during the hearing this week.

Generous 32M x 32-bit DDR2 SDRAM buffers give the FPGA fast access to I/O port data. FPGA code loads from the PCIe bus or from on-board flash memory. A double fat pipe 4-lane PCIe interface ensures very fast data throughput.

64 I/O lines are accessible through the rear (P2) connector. A series of AXM extension modules are available to provide additional front-end A/D, RS-485, CMOS, or LVDS I/O channels through a mezzanine connector on the front of the board.

Acromag's Engineering Design Kit provides utilities to help users develop custom programs, load VHDL into the FPGA and to establish DMA transfers between the FPGA and the CPU. The kit includes a compiled FPGA file and example VHDL code provided as selectable blocks with examples for the local bus interface, read/writes, and change-of-state interrupts to the PCI bus. The Android Market seriously needed a redesign. There's way too many applications without an effecient way of sifting through all of the crap. Unfortunately, having a relatively open market leads to a lot of garbage getting through. I don't like that Apple has an extensive review process that keeps everyone kissing their ass, but it's kept nonsense from crowding the AppStore.

a three-month pilot program for its compliance management solution:
U-Sleep.  U-Sleep is currently being launched for the commercial
transportation industry and will monitor individual drivers who have
been diagnosed with and are undergoing treatment for sleep apnea.

Sleep apnea and its impact on driver safety is an important topic in the
transportation industry. Prolonged untreated sleep apnea can lead to
serious health issues including sleep deprivation, weight gain, high
blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and stroke.  Specifically,
chronic sleep deprivation can result in a two to seven fold increased
likelihood of vehicular accidents. Various studies have shown that 1 in
3 commercial truck drivers have some degree of sleep apnea, while only
a small portion are tested and treated.

treatment of sleep apnea. The monitoring of PAP device usage encourages
regular use and subsequently improves the effectiveness of therapy.

Buzztime Looks to Crown First Ever Smartest Bar

Buzztime launches bi-national competition to determine once and for all who are the smartest bar trivia patrons

CARLSBAD, Calif., May 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- NTN Buzztime, Inc. (NYSE Amex: NTN), a leading social entertainment and integrated marketing platform for bars and restaurants, announced that the company will launch a bi-national campaign beginning in June and culminating in November to crown the Smartest Bar.  Buzztime's nearly 3,900 bar and restaurant customers will compete against each other to see how their guests' combined 'brain power' fares against that of their peers throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Buzztime's Smartest Bar regional competitions, in both countries, will take place each Wednesday night at 9:00 PM ET/6:00 PM PT in June and September.  In November, locations that qualified through the regional rounds will be invited to participate in the Smartest Bar finals, where the winning bar will be crowned. This bar promotion is the latest in a long line of programs in which Buzztime is helping its bar and restaurant customers increase their guest visits and create an event during slower weeknights.

Participants will be quizzed to see if they can provide the right answers to questions in the following categories: The Sciences, The World, The Shows, The Past, The Games and the Arts. Bars with the top three scores will advance to the November finals - the top scores will be determined by the location's average of the top five player's scores.  In addition, Buzztime will award a 'Wildcard' spot for each of the 10 regions to those bars that have the highest participation or cumulative total points.
