Poker Legend Yosh Nakano Launches RealHangoverRelief.com Website
LOS ANGELES, March 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Veteran poker pro and 2006 CBC Intercontinental Poker Champion Yosh Nakano hosted a launch party for RealHangoverRelief.com to benefit the One Step Closer Foundation (http://www.1scf.com), a cerebral palsy charity.

With the memorial service for the owner of the Los Angeles Lakers still fresh in everyone's thoughts, Nakano says his first instinct was to reschedule the launch of RealHangoverRelief.com. "He was a visionary who will be missed," said Nakano. "But then I thought about what Jerry stood for and what he accomplished. He would have told me, 'Keep moving forward.' So, I think it's appropriate that the RealHangoverRelief.com website should be launched on the day of his memorial service."
According to Nakano, RealHangoverRelief.com has state-of-the-art scientific research behind it. "There are several causes of hangovers. The primary one, which is also very detrimental to one's health and the liver, is acetaldehyde toxicity," Nakano said. "The liver converts alcohol into acetaldehyde, a compound 30 times more toxic than alcohol."
Nakano says the body's naturally occurring antioxidant, glutathione, bonds with the acetaldehyde to convert it into acetic acid so that it can be eliminated from the body. University of California, Santa Barbara capitalizes on ATERAS® automated modernization solutions to successfully migrate Student Information System from mainframe ADABAS/Natural to SQL Server/C# .Net

UCSB's Student Information System, comprised of over 20 applications supporting over 85,000 users, was migrated from a mainframe Software AG ADABAS database Natural application environment with Entire X Broker middleware to a Microsoft .Net framework on SQL Server. Leveraging over 28 years of legacy expertise and exploiting the power of its proprietary suite of automated tools (eavRPM® for rapid program modernization and DB-Shuttle® for data/code conversion), ATERAS along with UCSB's talented team drove this strategic project to completion in two years.
The mainframe-based systems that were modernized (6,900 components, 1,460,000 lines of code and 1,350,000 ADABAS records), used primarily by the Office of Admissions and the Registrar's Office, are the core back-end to many front end, web-based applications (Microsoft .Net Framework) used by UCSB students, staff, faculty, parents, community members, alumni, applicants, etc. UCSB chose an approach that changed the green screen user interface of the core applications to a web browser screen, while maintaining the existing logic and functionality of the Natural programs. ATERAS' eavRPM® enabled the ability to transform the applications with an enhanced web based user interface and modern underlying language/database technology, while retaining the functionality and performance. Natural screens were replaced with ASP.Net web forms and Natural programs replaced with C# classes. DB-Shuttle® enabled the automated conversion of ADABAS to SQL Server and batch Natural programs to C#. The new .NET solution exploits the features of ASP.NET, ADO.NET, C#, and object-oriented design.

The performance of the converted system often exceeds the requirements set by UCSB, with comparable security authorization mechanisms in place. AT&T 4G LTE delivered faster average download speeds than any of the competitors in PCWorld's most recent 13-market speed tests, and telecommunications industry analyst firm Frost and Sullivan awarded AT&T its North American Mobile Network Strategy Award for the second year in a row in 2012.

Planned Investment to Expand Reach of Wireless and Wired Broadband
AT&T recently launched Project Velocity IP (VIP), a three-year investment initiative to expand and enhance its wireless and wired IP broadband networks. As part of Project VIP, AT&T plans to increase the density of its wireless network by deploying more than 10,000 macro sites, more than 1,000 distributed antenna systems, and more than 40,000 small cells. Through this initiative, we also plan to:
-- Expand 4G LTE to cover more than 300 million people by year-end 2014
-- Expand the AT&T wired IP broadband network to cover approximately 75
percent of customer locations in our wired service area by year-end 2015
-- Expand the AT&T fiber network to reach 1 million additional business
locations by year-end 2015
