I got this album yesterday, and I have to say that I am in awe of how good this album is. It came at the perfect time, too. While some of the other Melodic Death Metal bands have gotten much worse(In Flames, I'm lookin your way), Dark Tranquility has gotten much better. I have to go back and buy a few of their older albums now...I just feel obliged.
Their older stuff is where it's at. The Gothenburg (Melo-Death) style of metal has grown tired with me. Now I only look forward to ultra extreme or ultra innovative. If you have both, then it's a great mix.
