did anyone else do this?

a few years ago i used to recolour.

it's like taking a person or something from a show and going over it and making it your own.

i did this for example when i'd watched the new alice in wonderland movie made by tim burton

i might go back to doing them occasionally because i used to get inspiration from it.

it started out as this, then i went onto doing bases and then i eventually became confident in my own drawing skills.

but lately i don't really have anything that inspires me :/

i can take requests if you'd like i guess....

Roughly ten years ago in my early internet days I used to recolor because in genuinely amazed me to be able to swap colors in those early image editors. I remember inverting a picture of Patamon from digimon, just for fun, and being so amazed at the result that I built a character out of it XD I also used to fiddle with screenshots, clip art, and sprites and rework them into other character, although I suppose they aren't recolors, really, since I was trying to make them look like something else. I actually have some this old stuff, although I lost most of it. Yeah, I was big into Digimon back then.
