German Tourists

My friend Jake and I went to the mall today pretending to be German tourists. Hahaha, it was so fun. We went and bought a German/english dictionary, and pretended to be reading from it to try ti communicate.

We didn't really speak German, it was just a bunch of babbling with an accent, and those weird noises they make. (No offense, Free Zombie.)

Mind if I steal this for the next time we go to the mall? Sounds awesome. I'd even take a camera to record the reactions of the "Americans." It would be like Borat or something.

Haha, I don't care. I think we got it off TV.

The people in Hot Topic were so stupid, they were terrible at communitcating. One was like "OH I CAN SPEAK GERMAN", and said something really badly (no idea what he said) and we pretended to get offended and stormed out.

They really thought we were German.

I managed to work in "Sieg Heil!" into my sentences. I did the nazi salute a few times.

We also knew two other prases:
"Die Juden sind unser Ungluck!" - The Jews are our bad luck.
And
"Die Deutschen immer vor dem Ausländer und den Juden!" - The German always before the foreigner and the Jews.

yeah, Germans can have a strange accent in English ;-)
sounds like fun - but Nazis aren't fun at all --- and girls were brought up to be housewives, not soldiers, so that would seam a bit dodgy anyway. But I don't expect foreigners or, nowadays, even Germans who don't/didn't attend grammar school to know that.

Hot Topic will remain in business so long as people sometimes shop there since it's owned by the Gap.

I actually kind of like Hot Topic. It's too goth/emo/poser-ish but they occasionally have neat things in there. That's where I got my Pyramid Head shirt.
