Does anyone know (approximately) how much money it would take to rent a server to host a full (32-player) game of Unreal Tournament 2004? And I'm talking a decent server, one that won't lag with three people in it. My computer alone can handle maybe a six player game, tops, so I imagine a 32-player game wouldn't be ridiculously expensive. Now, I don't have experience in renting/buying/owning servers, so I'm not sure what the normal price range would be. Any sort of help is appreciated.

For how long would you want to rent a server for? I know that Atari will rent a server for a bit, and there are companies that will host game servers for a large price.

Well, I was thinking (as a trial) perhaps a week or two. If it goes well and if it's affordable, I'll rent one out for a month or more...longer if people are on it a lot.

Here is the Atari official server rental page: http://servers.unrealtournament.com/www/

And some random links from searching:
http://www.vskgamingservers.com/
http://www.recongamer.com/gameservers/ut2004/

I found more, but you get the idea. Many of them also include webspace and a website.

Thanks Aron, you is be the bomb Huge Grin

Though it's odd how the servers can only hold up to 20 people, I've actually been in one with forty. It's fine though, I wouldn't be able to afford a 40-man server anyway. But this is great, cheaper than I expected. I was thinking like...$250 a month (20slot), but on that last link it's only $110 a month (20slot), then on Atari it's $160 (20slot). I suppose it would be because of a difference in quality?
Do you perhaps happen to know someone who has used multiple server renting services that I can get a hands-on opinion from? Or have you done used multiple services before? That'd be even better.
