Sometimes I try to pull all-nighters so I can get up in time to go to work, some are successful, most aren't; cause if I fall asleep I'm hard to wake up. Alarm clocks you ask? Forget it, I turn them off in my sleep. lol

I also used to have much trouble trying to sleep. It indeed happens when you have much, perhaps too much on your mind. To quell this, you might want to watch less tv maybe. (this is what I did) Less science stuff/end of the world crap. Now I don't have much trouble getting to sleep, it's just getting up that is the big problem now.
And yes, being 18 sucks when you work because of crazy work hours. lol You'll be there soon enough Ex-Shinobi, and you'll be damning me.

To avoid stress during school, you will when you organize yourself a little more. It calms the mind when you know what your doing and everything isn't mystery from day to day. For example, and it is a real important to finish your projects and assignments as soon as a you can. Cause when you complete them, guess what? Nothing to worry about. I found this out the hard way, and I know I'm in for a rude awakening when I head into college this year. lol
This is the same thing when you organize your day to day activities, plan things out every once and awhile.
That's some of my advise.
And yes, with a lack of sleep, I too become very silly and perhaps weird.
