Volcano! That's always fun.

Volcanoes are indeed old school yet, they are too predictable. Here's something that will KICK ASS!! And you can use it in your home or on the go!

A HI DEF SPEAKER

Materials you will need:
Ketchup
1 shiny ass penny(it must be shiny as hell otherwise your project is a dud)
1 paper plate
1.5 ft of aluminum foil
clear masking tape
head phone jack( if you have spare head phones cut the wire from the ear pieces, you should only have the head phone jack and some wire left)

Objective:
To show how electricity works, or how a speaker works (you can make up the rest)

Procedure:
STEP 1: Take you penny and dip it in some ketchup.NOW EAT IT! LOL Just kidding. Dipping the penny into Ketchup takes off the corrosion off of the penny if it has any. This is to shine the penny up otherwise electricity cannot react with the copper. Make sure it is COMPLETELY SUBMERGED and let it sit for about 3 mins. If it isnt completely shinny then put it in the ketchup again and wait longer. Then take a napkin and rub off the excess grimy crap.

STEP 2: Take your aluminum foil and wrap up your plate like you were wrapping up food. Make sure that the aluminum foil is not stuck to the plate and has a nice little bubble as if food is inside the plate.

STEP 3: take your shiny ass penny and tape it to the MIDDLE of the aluminum bubble.
STEP 4: Now peel off and ends of the wire to the head phone jack so that some copper wiring is exposed, and tape that part directly to the penny.

STEP 5: Now connect your ipod or other device and listen to the sweet harmony that is KICK ASS!!

Hope this helps! I made myself a 7.1 speaker system with this! HAHA!

Great, now add amplification to it to make it useful...

By the way, Step 1 can be done with any acidic substance including vinegar (which is what is taking the corrosion away in the ketchup).

Or if you dont like that idea do what I did in 9th grade and won 1st place...make an air bottle rocket. I punctured a hole in Rutgers - Camden's Auditorium in the ceiling with that one!!!

You know what...make it even SIMPLER take ketchup and a corroded penny and just show people the acidic properties of Ketchup. EASY!
