Drawing Anime Old Wed Sep 19, 2007 2:07:49 PM #41353 Perm Link
So does anyone on here like to draw anime? I have attempted it but to be honest I am not much of an artist. Now I have a friend that is pretty good at drawing and he loves to draw anime.

My sister is learning to draw it but is a bit shy ;-) We'll have to see how it goes!

Anime is tougher to draw than I thought to. I think I'd better stick with the stick figures.

I draw TERRIBLY and I am not exaggerating, but I can draw anime pretty easily. I like to do it decorate binders and stuff. Normally I just look at the picture of the anime character and draw it (not trace). I can't draw anything straight from my head though, because it ends up looking like the great flying spaghetti monster.

I find myself trying it just as more of a doodleing kind of thing. But like I stated it is not really all that great.

that would actually be pretty freaking awesome! But yeah, i USED to draw anime but i gave it up, along with drawing completely I felt as though nothing was proportionate to its corresponding body part...it sucked in short!

I think he was being sarcastic. The Artistic Creations forum pretty much doubles for drawings as well. Laser eye

I know but what I was thinking was what if a forum that was designed to allow users to draw various things with the click and point of a mouse? Hmmm? (no not a bootleg version of MSpaint!

I think there are places you can do that. I vaguely remember squiggling on some java app with my mouse. I don't get how you could ever draw anything good with those, because the movement of the mouse always makes it so jaggedy.

I have tried drawing stuff with using my mouse and there is no way that I could ever get good drawing using my mouse. I agree that it is not easy to get a straigh line.

I'd love a tablet. It makes such a HUGE difference when drawing, I tried one once and it was great. Was a Wacom too, oddly enough. They're not that expensive either...

I have a friend that draws beautiful anime. She creates these characters as she draws them and then writes stories around them. She usually does fantasy type stuff like angels, demons, fairies, animal/human hybrid. I hope she tries to enter some competitions or something. It would be so cool to see her mangas published!

If at first you don't succeed, blame your parents.

That is so neat that she has the talent to not only draw them but to write a story around what she draws is awesome. I don't have that kind of imagination.

Keep at it. My friend wasn't happy with hers when she started, but she just kept drawing and experimenting and the end results are great! You know what they say about practice......

Drawing Anime takes talent. The pictures / characters remind me of the type of ones that we did in highschool- cute and colorful. The sky is the limit if you can draw because pretty much anything goes. As for me- yes I can draw and enjoy it. I draw Bratz dolls for my daughter. i haven't attempted anime characters but my 10 year old son does some great Dragonball pics!
