Sword in the Moon is a solid example of the swordplay genre in Korea's New Wave cinema. It's full of moody and sacrificial heroes who are larger than life and entwined in dramatic plots. It also contains richly-stylized visuals and blood-splattering levels of martial violence masterfully orchestrated by Hong Kong action movie veterans Kim Won-jin and Yuen Bun.
Probably my favorite movie of all time. The part i liked most about it were the sword fights and just the fighting in general was very realistic unlike most samurai/ninja movies out there. No flying around tree's or inhuman super jumping/flipping just real sword fighting and lots of gore to boot. Check it out if you get a chance. Also it has probably the hottest korean chick i've ever seen in it
