It;s a terrible tragedy. That Korean Guy was a psychopath. He killed first two for personel reasons and then blind fire.
Laws should be a little strict in USA.

Stricter laws? How's legislation going to keep psychopaths from going postal?

My vocabulary is di...di...dimi...dimini..........killing itself.

By making thought crimes illegal. Anyone who at any time thinks of doing anything violent should be arrested and re-educated. Same goes for people who question the government and religious figures.

Seriously, I don't think there's more we can do law-wise to prevent these tragedies. Like I said a ways before, if someone wants to hurt people and they don't give a damn if they die, there's little you can do to prevent them from doing so.

Unless you meant gun laws, which I don't think would help much. Banning guns only insures that the people who intend harm has them. Most of the kids who got guns either stole them from their parents or had older friends obtain them for them, and when people are circumventing laws put in place to protect, you lose most of your defenses.

Thought police...do you think that's in the near future? I don't know about other states, but California is going completely nuts. People are bringing guns to schools, for whatever reason, and people are posting on the internet about going on shooting sprees (dark humor?). I remember hearing people ranting on the news "omg, did you read those plays that kid wrote? Why didn't the school do something about that? The teachers should've said something" and going on about how these plays were clear signs he was going to kill someone. Until some sane person came on and explained that you can't just pick someone out because they're weird, our laws call that discrimination (especially if they're not white) and it just sets up the school for a lawsuit, and god knows the education system can't take that many hits.

I can't even imagine it, yet it seems to be looming on the horizon, doesn't it? Thought police. Despite the fact that the vast majority of quiet people, of friendless people, of strange people, of people who write or draw violent images, of people who play video games do not go on to kill people.

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

Not in defense of the school but did anyone happened to see yesterday that when this guy was admitted back in 2005 and deemed a harm to himself that they were not allowed by law to report this back to the college? I find that terrible. If it is known by a doctor that this person had mental problems and the court agreed this should have been reported immediatly to the college. I just found this a big hole in our system.

What a sad, sad mess.

I certainly don't agree with thought police...all of our best crime writers would be in jail, not to mention almost every moviemaker in the country!

I remember my college years. It would have been horrible to have the campus in perpetual lockdown on the off chance that one student might or might not do something horrible. Years ago I read a quote by Benjamin Franklin: "Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither liberty nor security."

I don't think we can guard against every threat. Life is full of risks, and part of living in today's society is accepting that.

THis is just sad. I heard about it a few days ago like on Monday I believe, and I could not believe it. On friday I saw all the victims in the TV, and it is just sad how many young and old people died. Hope they rest in peace.
