I woke up today thinking of this song. I think I dreamt about it. I really like it! curious thing, I haven't heard it here in Germany yet, while in New York they were playing it at least once every hour. What do you think about it?

It's a great song but damnit why do they overexpose it? It's odd because they play formulaic pop crap with juuuuust the right frequency so you don't get sick of it too early because already you won't automatically like it, but when something unexpectedly turns out to be popular the radio stations just play the hell out of it (like macarena and that "I get knocked down" song) and kill it dead. I think it might be so that everyone gets sick of it and hates it really really quickly then the old men running the RIAA can once again sit smugly and think that they know what people want.

I don't know much about her but I have a funny story that kind of relates to her.
Last year my friend and I were going to a venue in downtown Atlanta to see her friends, the Living Things.
When we got there, there was a huge line around the block and we got a little concerned. She tried to call them and no dice.
I went to the back of the line and said I could wait. I did notice the crowd was a bit odd to be so interested in our friends...it was a bunch of older people and lesbian couples...
Finally she got a hold of another friend inside and the friend told her that the line was for KT Tunstall who was playing in another venue in the building (there's 3 venues in there). We laughed so hard and walked past the line and right in to our show.

I stopped listening to the radio when I was in high school...about three years ago...I heard this song when I was flipping channels at my dorm a while back, it was on MTVU. I liked it and downloaded it.
But I've been listening to soundtracks lately...mainly kill bill and fight club.

Well, I think I really "over exposed" the song to my mind! I listened to it yesterday 36 times!!! Yes, 36 times... The worst part, I enjoyed every time of it. I think I'm sick!

I don't ever see why people do that to themselves.

I wish I had an explanation for that, but I don't. I think sometimes I just want to listen to something, and I just go for it. Besides, when other people do it I think it is crazy! But me, it is perfectly normal! LOL!

It happens if you're near a radio too much...
For a while in the early 90s I had some dumb New Kids On The Block song in my head and I never even liked them.
I once heard that having a song stuck in your head could be a real disease hahaha

Hm? Is there something wrong with listening to a song you like over and over? Or am I misreading this?

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

To me there is nothing wrong on doing that! I do it all the time! Some people might think it is a little crazy, but I reached a point in my life that I don't really care what people think of my crazy stuff! LOL!

I don't see anything wrong with it either. If you like a song, go ahead and listen to it. It's been my experience that music you like provokes thought and I'll listen to the same song over and over again, all in a row, just to get into the groove of thought. But that's what I do and I don't expect people do be at all like me XD Anywho, go for it, if you like it. Chances are you'll get tired of it for a while, move onto a new obsession, then cycle back.

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

I don't want to kill it. I listen to some great songs...If I were to personally kill a song I love and have loved my entire life...never want to listen to it again bc I got sick of it bc of my own fault of making me listen to it a million times a day for weeks or months...I would never forgive myself.
I find it that I usually love a song more when I haven't heard it for a while...then hear it for the first time in weeks...

Well, as always, everyone has its own recipe for life and for listening to music. To me it is still great to find so many differences

It's difficult (for me) to kill a song for yourself, since you can choose when and where you hear the song and can stop if it's getting old for you. What bothers me is when the radio/other media plays it ad nauseam (although I haven't listened to the radio since we got a car with a CD player), because you have no control over when enough is enough.

But hey, yeah, everyones different and I do understand what you mean. For me, even songs that the radio has killed for me come back to life after a while.

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

This is all true.
Like my favorite song has been Go With the Flow for almost a year...it's even my ringtone. It's kinda lost its touch but it's still good to hear now and then.
My brother played some Clash the other day, which I really haven't continuously listened to in about 2-3 years, and it was great to sing along, forgetting that I still had known the lyrics so well!

But you can control how much you listen to the radio.

It's not just the radio, though. It's TV and music played in places...like malls, or whatever. I used to work at TJ Maxx and they played the same five songs, most not at all bad, but since I worked there I couldn't get away from it and it killed a lot of those songs for me, because I couldn't control whether or not I decided to listen to it

Good thing that most of the music I love isn't played on the radio...or if it is, it's not on the popular stations that are played everywhere.

Yeah, I haven't listened to the radio since I was 17, not counting when I'm in the car with friends or the other day when the guy I've been seeing dedicated a song to me.
I buy cds I heard about and decide if it's any good or not.
I'm mostly into 60s stuff and britpop anyway, not really easy to find where I am.
