The Dark Knight Falls

(this is an alternative storyline to the dark knight rises. it is based directly after batman twoface was killed and batman was blamed for the murder.)

"This batman menace must be stopped." commissioner gorden says rather convincingly, as if he really meant it. "that is why, effective immediately Gotham City PD will be working with the FBI and it's top agent, a specialist in psycho-criminology, to stop not only this batman, but the mentally unstable criminals that plague our city." he said. he turned to sit as an FBI agent with a black suit, designer pants and shoes, and a green tie walked up to the podium. "thank you Commissioner, but that is a bit false, you see, the FBI has sent only me, no task force at all to hinder my work." he said smiling as people took pictures for tomorrows newspapers "but fear not dear Gotham, for I am not only here to help you, but I am here to help my home city, because Gotham is where I grew up, it's where I played as a child, and where I hang my hat." he said indicating the bowler hat he had taken off and placed on the podium for the speech. "and how will I help?" he asks, the crowd erupts with "Catch the Bat" or "catch batman!" and other variants of that. "no, you are all WRONG!" he yells slamming his hand down, the whole crowd goes silent. "sorry, I am a bit over excited." he said shrugging it off. "no, I won't save anyone by catching the batman because the batman is a mystery. you do not catch a mystery, you solve it." he said. "That is why starting today I will set about my work to solve the mystery of the batman, and I will save this fair city of it's bat dressed lunatics, or my name isn't Edward Nigma!" he said as people cheered for him and his speech.
