Poem about Easter

Some say Easter is the real start of Spring
And some girls dream of flower petals and a diamond ring,
For some it is a time of great joy,
While others are sad cause their sweethearts are coy,
Easter for me is a time of cheer,
Knowing the heat of summer is almost here.

Some want to remember about a man who rose from the grave,
Because for them, he came to save,
They say he gave his life upon Calvary's tree,
To pay the price instead of me,
I do not know what to think,
Or why they put up such a big stink,
When I claim I do not care,
And cause a few to stare.

Some believe a bunny brings chocolate eggs,
While hopping around the country on it's hind legs,
It's a good thing for those young as three,
To believe, it's hard for me.
I know I get my chocolate from my mom,
To her, I owe some.

Easter is a time for family,
That concept is appreciated nicely,
A time to gather 'round the table,
And share the tales of life and a occasional fable,
I hope I am off this holiday,
So I may enjoy this special day.
