Well I kinda disagree with the US loosing its culture remember what makes this country great is a clash of cultures and a spanish version of the American National Anthem is not wrong, what is wrong with honoring this country in another language? Now what’s wrong is a President getting a Head Job in the Oval office LOL gotta admit its funny too. And learning Spanish is not a waste of time as the Caribbean, Central America all the way down to South America composes of Spanish speaking Counties not just Spain plus If you understand Spanish you have the ability to pick up on Portuguese and Italian even French since the language is so close all stemming from Latin. Now im Quoting See-ThreePeeHoles “ Language barriers cause nothing but problems and segregate society”. In this country we or most of us speak English but depending on witch state you visit English is spoken differently with deferent accents and different meaning of the same words so it seems like a deferent language when it’s really English. Also another Quote “The problem is that none of these people want to assimilate into our culture and that's the problem.” Isn’t the Spanish Anthem Honoring or pledging allegiance to this Country. Now Don’t get me wrong I believe that every one that enters this country should at least speak English no matter where they come from, me being of Spanish descent myself my Primary Language is English and my secondary is Spanish. Plus English is a Universal language every Country in this world has people that speak English from Airplane Pilots to Politicians. Now if you all excuse me i ordered a Pizza yep Italian food and im about to eat. now tomorrow ill order Chinese....isnt this Country Great...

America is a "melting pot" as a result of all the people who have come here and brought their old culture with them while accepting their new surroundings. A culture preserves its language and heritage by using them. Regardless of what we do, people will still do this. As generations pass some people lost their history and original language while others keep it alive. English is as close to a universal language as the world gets. We certainly can't forget the sheer number of people who speak Chinese, but you can go nearly anywhere in the world, and you won't have to go far to find someone who speaks English. Not bad for a little over 500 years of English speaking imperialism. No matter what we do, people will keep their culture while they pay their taxes to the empire. Baldeagle1 makes a good point about Spanish. The Roman Imperialism left us with all of the romance languages, similar but each one distinctly different. Maybe in another 500 years we'll have 5 separate versions of English.

UK English and American English are getting different enough, but you can understand each of them.

They call a trunk a boot!
