Batman Begins is a great film starring Christian Bale (Equilibrium). Dark storyline, without all the colorful crap from the two most recent Batman films. Bale played a great part.

Batman Begins focuses first on how Batman develops his skills as well as why he's doing it. The film is also very much about stealth and catching the enemies off guard. Even so, the entire second half of the film is all about Batman in the city, hunting criminals.

Is it better than the first Batman? I'd say it's a tie. The first one is a classic thanks to Jack Nicholson's Joker, and Keaton's good performance. Still, I prefer the darker story, Batman Begins. It's a very slick film, with great style and mood by Nolan/director.

Goyer, who wrote Batman Begins, kicked ass here. (I can't believe he was the guy who wrote Blade Trinity. I loved Blade 1 and 2, but 3 sucked and abandoned the focus of the first two.) This is a great script, topped with top notch acting.

Overall, Batman Begins is highly recommended if you enjoyed the first Batman 1989. The fight scenes could've been shot better, but it was mostly intentional, due to the stealthy movements of Batman. When Batman freefalls and opens up his wings, man, that kicked ass. Oh, and the batmobile chase scene rocked, much like this film.

Fans of dark heroes, Blade, Neo, Hellboy, Darth Vader, etc, check it out.

Rating: 9/10. Must see. Don't be fooled by the other films in the series. This is a new take on Batman not to be missed by fans.

Nice. I do plan on seeing it soon. Hellboy was not good, though.

Just got back.

I thought it was amazing, but hey, that's just me.

Anyone who manages to blow up a monestary full of god-damned ninjas is awesome in my book.

Yes, Hellboy wasn't good, I agree. I just listed him in there with Dark Action Heroes. I'd also like to include Ash and Darkman in that list. And that guy Marv, from Sin City...

Batman Begins is a whole new Batman, even though the suit looks similar to the previous movies.

Actually, it's not a whole new Batman rather than a whole new take on him, that is, as a real person than a comic book hero. The thing that made Batman Begins better than the Burton classic was not only was the comic book hero brought to life, but brought to life in a believable way. This movie not only gave explanations to his past but also to the equipment and training he went through to become the dark knight. It's very well rounded as it's got the romance, drama and kung fu aspects covered. Better than the heap of crap that was Spiderman, just as good as X Men and just as riveting as Sin City. Good movie.

Yes, bringing up an old topic.

I just saw the movie and it was AWESOME. It was good to see the tricks and such that Batman would use if he was real. The effects were good as was the story. I can't wait till the next movie. Nice open ending part at the end.

The sequel is already in the works, Bale, Caine, and Oldman have already been signed, they are working on contracts with Freeman, Holmes I have no idea.

I loved this movie, i went and got the collectors DVD and showed it to everyone in my family, my grandma saw it twice, lol, great movie

They can leave Holmes out and it would be fine. She was a weak part of the movie.

Last I heard, Nolan was considering Sean Penn for the role of the "JOKER". Penn and Nicholson are good friends, so it's doubtful Penn would take the part, also considering his brother just died...

I'm pretty sure it was Sean Penn. Do I think he'd do a good job? Yeah. I thought he was great in "The Thin Red Line".

As far as Holmes returning, I remember hearing on TV "The attention Holmes drew from the film, due to her relationship with Tom Cruise, took away the "Proper" reason people should be interested in seeing Batman Begins," or some crap like that, according to some reporter talking about how Warner Brothers feels. But based on the ending, I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't in the sequel.

Batman Begins 2 should be cool, if they keep it on track with the quality of part one. Just hope they improve the costumed Batman fight scenes so I can actually tell what's happening; keep it clear like the opening prison fight of Wayne versus the prisoners.

The opening fight scene against the prisoners was pretty confusing. The real problem was the mud, they all looked the same.

I hope that the creepy villian is able to fight more, the joker would be able to do that. Scarecrow barely fought at all and got his ass kicked by Dawes.

I had no problem either. The scene didn't matter as much, it was the end result that did.

Most villians don't fight themselves. They get bigger stronger henchmen to fight. The only exception is Bane and some others.
