New to ASE participation, otherwise not so new...

Well, I joined a while back, but for some reason never think to stop by here. It was recently pointed out to me, so I decided I should make an introduction thread... I never made one at HardwareLogic, I just jumped in, but then again, I didn't realize I should (until much later).

I use Linux (primarily Ubuntu), and have a tad bit of programming experience (mostly debugging), and I know some of you know me from the HardwareLogic forums. Yeah, cf8 is taking over ASE now, too!

Both! I play the tenor saxaphone as well as the piano. I live off of music. I enjoy gospel, dubstep (it's a form of electronica(which is a form of techno)), and rock. And you?

Piano! I usually don't listen to music, but I'm trying to learn a few new songs on the keyboard/piano...

Other than the songs I know, I don't play piano; for the songs I do know, I can play the piano "okay" or "average", depending on what the song is. (Others seem to rate my skill level higher than I would, but who knows.)

Well, I remember that I was 5.5 years old when I started, so I'd be tempted to say 14.5; that would not really be accurate, though, since I stopped taking lessons around the age of ten years...

Since then, I've "tried" taking lessons a couple times, but they always wanted to teach me "the right way", rather than how to just play the songs I wanted to learn. So, now, whatever I do, it's pretty much on my own. YouTube is an awesome resource, though.
