It was free, all I have to do is fix the screen. As you can see, the laptop works perfectly fine otherwise. It is a zv5242qv. It has a cripped version of an Athlon 64 chip which doesn't allow it to run with 64 bit extensions.
2014 is going to be a good year. More content, more streamlining. Be a part of history!
My dad just got a free laptop that he's given to me. Unfortunantly it's a Compaq somethinggayorother and still has Windows 98. I think it has some kind of virus too. Once it's updated and patched up I'm sure it'll be great.
I am now blessed by one laptop I don't want and one laptop that I haven't paid for yet. I had roriginally bought a PowerBook for school, but when I grew tired of it crashing all the time (not the fault of Apple mind you, it was a demo), I "sold" it to an Apple tech and purchased a new one. Problem is I was stupid and didn't wait until the guy actually *paid me* and *took it*, so I have been waiting for months now and I think he's never going to give me the money. :-/
Sorry to hear of your misfortune Nacho. I might approach the guy and say "I found a buyer willing to pay me cash and I am going to need the notebook back unless you can show me some dough." If the guy needs more time have him sign off on a piece of paper of anykind stating what he intends. Even unofficial documentation is considered a binding agreement and can be held in any court of law.
As for my Dell 8200 Inspiron P4 1.4. It's sitting in my closet collecting dust ever since the display bulbs went. I have neglected it after I put togther the desktop and I suppose when a new display falls into my lap I will put it back together. Keep your fingers crossed.
