2D to 3D conversion. 2D to 3D video conversion (also called 2D to stereo 3D conversion and stereo conversion) is the process of transforming 2D ("flat") film to 3D form, which in almost all cases is stereo, so it is the process of creating imagery for each eye from one 2D image.

Computer manufactures are always looking for the next best technology, and thanks to an impressive bit of materials science, a little-used form of random access memory (RAM) could soon be taking over the insides of your personal computer. That’s because materials scientists in China have recently found a way to speed up—by more than a factor of 10—so-called phase-change random access memory (PCRAM), which can hold onto information even when your computer’s power is off.
For decades, computers have been getting smaller, faster, and cheaper. But advances in memory technologies have slowed in recent years, prompting researchers to consider alternatives. Dreamed up in the 1960s, PCRAM has always been a promising candidate for RAM—the rewritable scratch pad that a computer’s central processor uses while making its calculations. But it was much slower than most common forms of RAM—including static RAM (SRAM) and dynamic RAM (DRAM)—which can hold information only temporarily.
In general we can say, the speed is main difference in generation of memories.
Okay, I'll admit it. I'm only Windows XP right now cause it works with my USB wireless adapter. However, once I get back high-speed internet at the end of August, I really want to switch back to Linux.
However, I don't want to go to Ubuntu as it seems that the latest version doesn't support my hardware (HP Pavilion m7480n) that well. So I'm looking for a distro that will work well with my hardware that's also easy to use for a person not that familiar with Linux.
Any suggestions will be gratefully considered. I use this rig for surfing the web, tracking finances, writing, light gaming (ie. RCT3 Gold or OpenTTD), and working on my websites. Paid distros are out, as I really don't want to have to pay for the next OS, unless it's for my gaming rig in the future.

The iPhone 4S has an identical design to the iPhone 4, but its guts are all new. Although that might be a disappointment to some people (no larger display, no slimmer body, no tear-shape game-friendly design), I am actually pretty happy with it. I really like the iPhone 4 design: It's still the thinnest smartphone available, and it has a stylish, premium look thanks to the glass face and back.
I am a little disappointed to see that the screen real estate didn't get a bump. I'm definitely not asking for a 4.5-inch display (which is too big in my opinion), but 4 inches or even 3.7 inches would make Web browsing, movie watching, and gaming a bit more comfortable.
Anyway, the iPhone 4S features 1080P recording and playback. And more pixels improved the image quality. It supports H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats. So the iPhone 4S is a very good media player to play 1080P Blu-ray/DVD movies. Follow this guide to rip and convert Blu-ray/DVD movies to 1080P H.264 video format for playback on iPhone 4S.
Step 1. Free download and install this Blu-ray Ripper as Blu-ray/DVD to iPhone 4S Converter
Click "BD/DVD ROM or BD/DVD Folder" to load Blu-ray/DVD disc or Blu-ray/DVD folder files. It will decrypt the Blu-ray DVD disc automatically when loading disc.
Step 2. Set output audio/video format for iPhone 4S
Click the pull down menu at the opposite side of "Format", then follow "Common video" >> "H.264 video" for iPhone 4S. You can still choose "subtitles" and "language" for targert file through "Subtitle" option above "Format".
Step 3: Adjust video and audio parameters
To get 1080P quality Mp4 for iPhone 4S, you are allowed to click "Settings" button to optimized the output file quality by adjusting video and audio parameters. The codec, aspect ratio, bit rate, frame rate, sample rate, and audio channel are all adjustable in the following interface.
Step 4. Start to convert Blu-ray/DVD
When the above mentioned steps are done, you can click "Convert" button to start converting Blu-ray movies for iPhone 4S. A command line/DOS window will open and start to process the video conversion.
Step 5. copy Blu-ray DVD to iPhone 4S
After conversion, you can click "Open" button to find the converted files. If you'd like to convert all the selected Titles into one file, do not forget to check "Merge into one file" before converting movie. OK, everything's done. Now you may open iTunes and sync the files to your brand new iPhone 4S. Enjoy the movies!
I'd like to recommend here a great application call Jabp here. It's a financial application written in Java, so it works on any computer (and quite a few smart-phones) as long as it has the Java interpreter installed. Since it's written in Java, it can adapt itself to any size screen, which is nice when you only have a 7" screen to work with. My only gripe with it? You have to start it from the terminal/command line, so if you accidentally close that window, you lose your work!
Apple create iTunes to not include features that would let you copy music from your iPod to another computer.
They did this to ease music industry concerns about copyright infringement and unauthorized sharing of music via the iPod.

Rumors about Apple’s Next iPhone
Part of Apple’s success is the mysterious cloud they successfully place around their products – and the endless amount of rumors that fans and enemies alike spread. Rumors about the next iPhone have been circulating ever since the last one came out. There have been a lot, but besides the many supposed features it'll have, there's been some debate about whether it will be called iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S. Which brings us to what exactly the "iPhone 4S" probably is. As some have speculated, it probably won't actually be a speeded-up version of the iPhone 4, the same way that the "S" in iPhone 3GS designated a faster iPhone 3G. If anything, it'll probably be a significant downgrade to the iPhone 4, closer to the speculation around the so-called "iPhone Nano." Apple would almost certainly need the new cheapo iPhone 4S to cost less to build than the iPhone 4 in order to get the margins it needs for the whole project to be worth it.
Now the word on the street is that both are correct—that Apple will actually release two new iPhones in the fall, one being a completely redesigned model that will remain the flagship phone, and the other a cheaper, lower-end model that would be more like a cousin of the current iPhone 4. The rumor is actually not much more than educated speculation from an industry analyst, Chris Whitmore of Deutsche Bank. That alone is enough to put the plan in the "questionable" bin. On top of that, though, such a move just seems out of character for Apple. Since its inception, the iPhone has always been "The iPhone." Apple's mobile product philosophy is pretty clearly a "one size fits all" strategy, releasing just one phone per year. Much like the tagline for the Highlander movies, for the iPhone, there can be only one.
iOS, Android and Windows Phone 7 Comparison iOS is the oldest of the four platforms here. While it has made great strides in terms of market share since we first glimpsed it back in January 2007, the last year has really seen Android lay down the gauntlet - and it continues to improve. And, Android on the other hand has gone through considerable changes since its first iteration and has only got better with age. Android 2.2 brought a whole host of performance updates over 2.1. From an improved battery to considerably less choppy video recording, things are just generally better with 2.2. Finally, Windows Phone 7, the latest entrant into the world of smart phones, took the world by surprise when it was first announced. The beauty of the UI design on Windows Phone 7 is unlike anything that you have seen before on other smart phones. What follows is a brief comparison of the top three smart phone platforms. Interface- WP7’s clean and fresh interface is a new approach in a world clogged up with iOS clones. Android, supports up to seven home screens and animated wallpapers, is endlessly customizable with widgets and shortcuts. iOS’s grid of icons and folder’s does the job admirably.

I need a chat program that can be used over a wifi ad-hoc network on the machines using windows 7. The ad-hoc network will be created by one laptop and the rest of the 30 machines will connect to it. once connected they should all be able to chat with each other or start a group chat. I checked google and found out that microsoft had an inbuilt software on windows vista called windows meeting space but it was discontinued with windows 7. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
With the recent releases of the first Honeycomb tablet - the Motorola Xoom and Apple's second-gen iPad 2, the tablet computer landscape is finally starting to get interesting. Motorola Xoom has became a powerful rival to iPad 2. In fact, the Motorola Xoom and the Apple iPad are very similar with regard to basic hardware design and functionality. When you break it down, the iPad 2 trounces the Xoom in almost every category. That’s not to say that the Xoom isn’t a really good tablet, but unfortunately the iPad 2 manages to wipe the floor with it in everything from design to performance. That said, the Xoom can still find itself many happy homes with Android enthusiasts. Anyway, let us learn more about them.

Thx Aron, I figured that the software RAID 1 in Linux is the best for my simple mirror; I'm reading up on the mdadm and LVM installations as well as the Virtual Box. Cross fingers for mid May build after 2 years of pinching pennies.
Thx Aron; yea I got some good advise why not to trouble with Wine via Launch pad; so I dwnlded and installed "digiKam" via Ubuntu. Looks like a lot more options and features than shotwell but is only supported through April 2012 at this time. Thanks again, I misspoke I should have said the software that came with the camera.
