AAA's new iPhone App Employs NAVTEQ's Maps, LocationPoint(TM) Ads

AAA launches TripTik Mobile for the iPhone(R) mobile digital device, a free LBS app that is supported by NAVTEQ's LocationPoint(TM) Advertising Services

CHICAGO, June 9 -- NAVTEQ, the leading global provider of maps, traffic and location data enabling navigation, location-based services and mobile advertising around the world, today announced its LocationPoint(TM) advertising services are driving the third in a series of applications from AAA for the iPhone® mobile digital device. Recently released on Apple's iTunes app store, the AAA TripTik® Mobile app provides directions, updated gas pricing and information on restaurants, hotels, and attractions. Each app is also able to transmit GPS location to AAA for roadside assistance.

The full-featured application provides maps and directions to get users to a selected AAA point of interest or to a user-entered address.  It also provides voice guidance for the next maneuver at the press of a button or by shaking the iPhone® mobile digital device.

Free to download, the app is supported by NAVTEQ LocationPoint(TM) Ad services.  A service that aims to help NAVTEQ partners explore new revenue streams, LocationPoint(TM) services harness NAVTEQ's unrivalled location content and capabilities to pinpoint where consumers are, deliver ads and special offers for nearby points of purchase, and guide them to the merchant's doorstep.  What makes LocationPoint(TM) services unique are the service's built-in calls to action such as "click to map" or "click to promotion" which guide consumers to advertised store locations.

"AAA is pleased to expand our long standing relationship with NAVTEQ by offering our members the benefits of LocationPoint advertising in this new iPhone app," said Bob Hopkins, Managing Director, AAA Travel Information.

"NAVTEQ has a long history with AAA," said Chris Rothey, Vice President NAVTEQ Media Solutions.  "We know the power of LocationPoint(TM) and believe it can actually help enhance the user experience of a new generation of applications and products."
