Defensive Driving by Improv(TM) Celebrates One-Year Milestone Offering Defensive Driving Course in New York
Improv, leading online provider of defensive driving courses, marks 300 percent growth with innovative release voiced by acclaimed actor-comedian Charles Fleischer
NEW YORK, May 24 -- Defensive Driving by Improv, the pioneer of defensive driving courses fueled with humor, today marked its one-year milestone as an approved provider in New York's DMV online program for Point and Insurance Reduction with the release of its audio-delivered, read-along option voiced by actor-comedian Charles Fleischer, acclaimed for his titular role in the Oscar(TM)-winning movie, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?"
"A year ago we went live as part of the New York DMV's innovative effort to take driver improvement online. Today, with the release of our new audio feature, we continue to innovate how defensive driving education is experienced by making it enjoyable, convenient and available in multiple formats, anywhere and anytime," said Gary Alexander, Improv's CEO and founder. "For over twenty years, our mission has been to increase the effectiveness of driver improvement instruction by making it fun and easy for students to succeed. The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles' online defensive driving course is called Internet/Alternate Delivery Method Point and Insurance Reduction Program, or I-PIRP for short. It's open to all licensed drivers, and participation is voluntary. New York drivers who complete an I-PIRP course are eligible for a mandatory 10 percent/three-year savings on auto liability and collision insurance premiums and reductions to their driver violation point total (up to four points). Classroom courses will continue to be offered throughout the state.
"It's definitely been a popular choice for students, as we have experienced over 300 percent growth in New York registrations in the last year," observed Alexander. "Our new read-along option allows participants to either read or listen to the defensive driving course over the internet, and we think that Charles Fleischer's one-of-a-kind humor will continue to increase our popularity with New York drivers."
While the course must be completed within 30 days of registration, it is available 24/7, allowing participants to log into http://www.MyImprovNewYork.com as many times as they like to finish at their own pace. Upon completion of this New York online defensive driving course, students are mailed a certificate that can be submitted to their insurance company, and the New York DMV is notified for an automatic reduction on the driver's active point count.
