SAN FRANCISCO and MONTREAL, May 3 -- babyTEL Inc., leader in Social Voice, announced the private beta launch of its Social Telephone Voice API at Web 2.0 Expo (Booth 415).
When web application developers add the Telephone Voice API functionality to their web apps, their users can talk, conference, IM and send individual and group voice messages. "Voice makes great web apps even better and will increase stickiness and user engagement," said Stephen Dorsey, babyTEL's CEO.
Web application developers will be amazed how easy it is to integrate fun and sophisticated voice features into their web apps. The API works with the user relationships that developers have already defined to set rules on who users can call or send voice messages to, what information gets shared between users, and how the phone book and call history is displayed. And the voice functionality is provided by babyTEL's proven, Telco-grade VoIP service.
The API offers all of these services through babyTEL's proprietary softphone that launches right from the web with no download or install required. The phone comes pre-populated with a user's friends, as defined by the developer, and works on Mac, Windows and Linux.
