St. Aidan's Anglican Girls' School Enjoys the Reliability and Mobility of a Xirrus 802.11n Network
Xirrus was selected by St. Aidan's for Their Ability to Provide A Robust Network with Fewer Devices Than Any Other Vendor
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., April 13 -- Xirrus®, the Wi-Fi "Power Play" that delivers the most coverage, bandwidth, and user density in the industry, announced today the deployment of Xirrus high performance 802.11n Wi-Fi Arrays across both campuses of St. Aidan's Anglican Girls' School in Corinda, Brisbane, Australia. As an all girls school with 840 students from preschool through year 12, St. Aidan's aims to provide the best possible educational environment for individual growth and goal realization. Dean Downs, Director of ICT at St. Aidan's Anglican Girls' School explains their need for wireless, "We have moved to a 1-to-1 environment in Year 9 to 12. The issue for us was how to provide access to all the students as demand for technology kept growing across the teaching faculties. The only solution really was to go with a portable device that every student could take with them as our computer lab spaces were already pretty saturated and we didn't have any more rooms to convert. We have a SharePoint environment as well for web 2.0 applications, so the choice to move to a wireless environment was very much driven by the fact that the hardware we needed was a portable device that needed to be wirelessly enabled."
Dean continued by explaining his reasons for choosing Xirrus, "We were drawn to the density of the Xirrus Array as they allow us to simply place something in one location to cover a large area.
