ET International Awarded Contract Continuation from the Department of Defense for $15M

NEWARK, Del., March 24 -- ET International (ETI), the leading many-core high-performance computing (HPC) system software company, today announced that it has been awarded a $15 million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense.

Since the initial contract was awarded in 2004, ETI has been responsible for the research, development, and implementation of the system software for the Cyclops-64 High-Performance Computing System designed and developed by IBM. This contract represents the software deployment phase of this project.

"We are very proud to provide a state-of-the art, many-core software solution for this government project," said Dr. Gao, Founder and Chairman of ETI. "ETI's combination of proven technology with a comprehensive portfolio of best practices has fueled its solid growth and productive usage," said Gao.

"The contract is the culmination of 5 years of effort and sustained support for this high-performance computing application.  We look forward to providing continued support to the DoD and working with our clients as we enter the next era of computing," commented Dr. Cuvillo, Chief Operating Officer and Program Director of the project at ETI.

ETI's many-core system software serves the needs of a wide range of high-performance computers and embedded applications.  Recipient of a Disruptive Technology award at a recent premier supercomputing conference, ETI's innovative software solution has the capacity and flexibility to unleash the power of many-core chip technology under several operating systems, i.e. Linux, enabling domain-specific and general purpose parallel applications to run on multiple hardware platforms.

Incubated by the University of Delaware ("UD"), ETI was spun off from the university in 2005 and developed a system software solution that addresses growing needs in multi-core programming on many-core hardware platforms.
