The new offerings range in size from the 38" 2.1 Sound Bar System to the flagship 45" 5.1 Slim Sound Bar System. The collection fully integrates Google Cast, allowing users to stream millions of songs from Google Cast-enabled audio apps(1) that music listeners already have on their mobile devices, directly to the sound bars over WiFi. Since the sound bar collection is part of the VIZIO SmartCast entertainment ecosystem, each sound bar can be controlled by the VIZIO SmartCast app which transforms iOS or Android mobile devices into powerful touchscreen remotes. The VIZIO SmartCast sound bars start at an MSRP of $289.99 (CAN) for the 38" 2.1 Sound Bar System, with the flagship 45" 5.1 Slim Sound Bar System offered at an MSRP of $689.99 (CAN). The new VIZIO SmartCast app simplifies the entire whole-home audio experience, transforming iOS or Android mobile devices into smart remotes. The app seamlessly allows consumers to utilize the multi-room function to cast the same song, or a different song, to multiple Google Cast-enabled audio products connected to the home WiFi network. Simple controls like play, pause, skip and volume adjustment are also possible through the app, allowing consumers to control their sound bar from anywhere in the home. While conventional sound bars typically connect solely via Bluetooth, the new VIZIO sound bar collection allows consumers to stream their favorite music, podcasts and internet radio stations over WiFi as well as Bluetooth. With WiFi streaming, listeners are no longer interrupted by phone calls, texts and other disruptive notifications that commonly occur when streaming over Bluetooth. WiFi streaming also helps conserve battery usage on mobile devices, and frees up mobile devices for other tasks. Best of all, WiFi streaming allows for improved audio quality compared to Bluetooth. VIZIO's audio products also ship with a standard LCD display remote, giving consumers an alternative way to control basic functions of their sound bar.
