Piggyback by Cimorelli launches Indiegogo campaign - Brings sharing of music via earbuds without sharing earbuds

Nashville, TN, April 4, 2016 /CNW/ - Piggyback by Cimorelli-- Piggyback is the line of audio accessories made for social music sharing. Piggyback earbuds have a built in Y-splitter at the base of the jack that enables users to quickly and easily share music and conversations. Launching on Indiegogo on April 11(th) and seeking $15,000 USD in funding, Piggyback is seeking backers to fund production and retail endeavours.
Piggyback by Cimorelli earbuds have an inline microphone and remote controls. The benefit of Piggyback is that any user can control the functions while connected. For example, if three people are connected to Piggyback any user can control the mic and audio controls. That cannot be done with a traditional Y Splitter that's found in many dollar stores and retail outlets.
The thing that many people don't know, sharing earbuds is inconvenient and unsanitary and can lead to a nasty bacterial infection.
"With the Y splitter, we found that it was inconvenient for people to carry around. Personally, I kept losing these on my trips and these cheap Y splitters took a toll on volume and audio quality. So I was wondering, "there has to be a better way." That's when I came up with the idea for Piggyback with a built in splitter that doesn't sacrifice audio quality or volume. The nice thing with Piggyback is you can link 5 Piggybacks together (for example) without harming the audio quality or volume. The same cannot be said from a cheap dollar store Y splitter. Also they do not allow you to share a conversation. You could hear one, but if you spoke, no one would hear you. Also, with Piggyback, everyone connected can operate the controls. Anyone can answer a call, play or pause the music or even skip a song. Everybody's controls work. Nobody else uses that level of control," said Andrew Barron, CEO at Piggyback.
