Infortrend Optimizes EonStor DS 4000 Gen2 Storage for VOD Applications
Now supports up to 9,400 simultaneous streams
TAIPEI, Taiwan, Feb. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Infortrend® Technology, Inc. (TWSE: 2495) today announced that its EonStor DS 4000 Gen2 now features enhanced AV Optimization to better meet the needs of VOD applications and boost the system with an increased performance, supporting up to 9,400 simultaneous streams.
Infortrend AV Optimization provides a stable high throughput and smooth video streaming through its intelligent firmware, which automatically detects I/O behaviors and prompts the system to react accordingly to ensure the users' video watching experience isn't compromised.
To validate the performance improvement, Infortrend tested the AV Optimization function using the SPC-2 benchmark. The results were outstanding: EonStor DS 4000 Gen2 is able to support up to 9,400 simultaneous streams, making it the ideal choice for throughput intensive VOD applications such as entertainment, education and videoconferencing.
Moreover, with a consistent high throughput, EonStor DS 4000 Gen2 achieves 11,000MB/s read and 5,500MB/s write performance, which can support eight and five 4K streams respectively. This high performance makes it a great solution for media editing as well.
