EyeLock and Wistron NeWeb Corporation Announce Availability of Iris Authentication Module for Notebooks, Tablets, and All-in-Ones
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- 2016 CES LVCC Booth 10417 -EyeLock LLC, a market leader of iris-based identity authentication solutions, today announced the availability of the first iris module for PC products. Created in partnership with Wistron NeWeb Corporation (WNC) (TSE: 6285), a leading global original design manufacturer (ODM), the PC module uses EyeLock's iris identity authentication technology to provide users with seamless security for critical access points. The module will be on display in the VOXX International booth 10417 at the Consumer Electronics Show taking place January 6-9, 2016. VOXX International (NASDAQ: VOXX) acquired a majority interest in EyeLock in September 2015.
EyeLock and WNC have created a module with groundbreaking performance that includes the ability to authenticate an individual from as far away as 60cm. The module natively integrates into existing PC architectures, adding no weight or bulk to the device. Embedding award-winning technology from EyeLock allows iris identity authentication to be quickly adopted across a range of devices in a variety of markets.
EyeLock's advances in iris authentication have made it possible to incorporate this highly secure technology into consumer-oriented devices at scale without compromising the technology's accuracy or ease-of-use.

In November 2014, EyeLock announced a licensing agreement with WNC to embed EyeLock's patented iris authentication technology into a broad array of applications. The partnership established EyeLock as the first company to develop iris authentication technology in an ODM device.
Under the terms of the agreement, WNC will design, develop and market EyeLock-enabled modules that are sold to the market-at-large as well as incorporated into reference designs of devices for OEM customers.
