No longer just a risk in the bedroom, bedbugs are also found in hospitals, nursing homes, movie theaters, retail stores, universities and public schools, and even on airplanes. Eight of the top 10 busiest airports for Thanksgiving weekend from Nov. 25 to Nov. 30 as reported by Orbitz are located in the top 30 cities for bedbugs (as reported by Orkin).
"With the large number of people expected to travel this year for Thanksgiving, there is a higher risk for bringing along bedbugs as they hitchhike from one person to another," said Brian Hirsch, director of sales for ThermalStrike, a line of products that features state-of-the-art infrared technology that is lethal to all stages of bed bugs.
