New at AUTOMOTIVE TESTING EXPO 2015: LHP Engineering Solutions Brings Panthera Suite, Reliable Test Solutions to Auto Manufacturers

Model-Based Design Expert Accelerates Next-Generation Engine Development

NOVI, Mich., Oct. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- AUTOMOTIVE TESTING EXPO -- LHP Engineering Solutions (LHP), a leading provider of embedded electronic controls systems, development products, and engineering processes that streamline automotive engineering operations, today announced it is exhibiting the new Panthera Rapid Controls Prototyping (RCP) Suite, Rapid Prototyping Unit (RPU), and Desktop Test Environment (DTE) at Automotive Testing Expo (ATE) 2015 in booth E100.

"In the automotive industry, we see a huge demand for control and plant modeling software, rapid prototyping solutions, and HIL systems for system-level verification and validation to keep up with the evolving automotive industry," said Vince Socci, vice president of the Platform Division at LHP Engineering Solutions. "LHP engineers are entrenched in emissions and service monitoring, safety monitoring, fuel economy efficiencies, traffic controls, automatic brake controls, self-parking systems, crash-avoidance technology, engine variations, and all of the other new developments that are critical to success for automakers. Our tailored products and services to improve quality, schedule, and development cost for leading auto manufacturers."

Socci will speak at ATE 2015, discussing hardware-in-the-loop test workflows for automotive controls. For more information, attend the presentation in Hall B at 2:50pm or visit platform.lhpes.com.

Introducing Panthera for Rapid Controls Prototyping
The Panthera RCP Suite from LHP is a complete suite of products to support rapid controls prototyping on National Instruments LinuxRT-based controllers. The suite includes the Panthera Blockset, Panthera RTE run-time engine, Calibra measurement and calibration tool, and Panthera FPGA, and provides embedded systems engineers with an environment to develop real-time controls algorithms with MathWorks' Simulink and immediately deploy to National Instruments hardware. By leveraging National Instruments' huge catalog of modular hardware, engineers can build a wide variety of solutions to fit tailored application requirements.

Dan White, chief engineer of the Platform Division of LHP Engineering Solutions, spoke at ATE 2015 as an expert on model-based design for rapid prototyping of engine controls. For more information, visit lhpes.com/panthera.

Providing Decades of Automotive Expertise
LHP works with respected engineering directors that have a vision to transform their automotive engineering operations with the best technology and the right processes. LHP serves as an expert partner, tackling tasks like creating embedded control systems and driving sustainable operation with tools that improve quality, schedule, and development cost. Products like Panthera are based on industry-leading technologies and are applied to create streamlined, effective development platforms.

LHP process and technology changes are aggressive but sustainable. For the last two decades, LHP has transformed businesses - from automotive startups to billion-dollar industry names - with technology and processes. Collaboratively designed plans from LHP help automakers set a new standard for performance in the industry.

Case Study: Accelerating Next-Generation Engine Development
Recently, LHP created a solution that would allow multiple engineering teams to concurrently test engine controls and hone engine control applications. LHP integrated monitor and control interfaces to an ECU on a Desktop Test Environment (DTE) using National Instruments hardware and real-time FPGA software to create the hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) solution. With a high-fidelity engine model that runs on the DTE, engineers could simulate the dynamic performance of the actual engine.

By partnering with experts at LHP and using flexible technology platforms, automakers don't have to invest in hardware IP, but can use customizable COTS hardware and wire it to the exact interfaces that the application requires, rapidly accelerating engine testing and development with the HIL solution.
