MBX Expands Custom Server Appliance Manufacturing to Europe

Expedites Access to Global Markets for Software Vendors Based in US or Europe

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill., Sept. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MBX Systems, a US-based designer and manufacturer of custom server appliances for OEMs and ISVs, today announced the addition of manufacturing operations in Europe to its existing EU logistics and support services. Both US and EU vendors that deliver their software applications pre-integrated on hardware systems for turnkey deployment can now have appliances built to order in Europe with the same documentation and quality control processes used at the company's US plant, providing consistency and cost-effective support for global sales needs.

"We have offered warehousing in The Netherlands for systems built in the US, next-day delivery throughout most of Europe, demo unit management, return diagnosis and repairs, and other services in the EU for a number of years, but we've seen steadily rising demand for EU manufacturing as our customers' sales presence in Europe has grown," said Carl Nothnagel, MBX Vice President of Operations. "Adding production allows us to provide a full complement of post-engineering services to help US customers serve their EU clients in a timely manner as well as to help EU customers access the US market."

As in the US, the manufacturing service provided in MBX's Dutch facility yields fully customized hardware platforms that are designed to optimize the performance of the OEM's or ISV's software, pre-loaded with the relevant software application, branded to meet customer needs, and covered by MBX's lifecycle management program to avoid problems associated with outdated componentry.

The addition of EU manufacturing expands those benefits by offering:

--  The ability to source systems from the same builder on two continents,
simplifying the supply chain while also assuring consistent quality.
--  No overseas shipping charges, customs or import taxes associated with
moving finished systems from the US to MBX's EU warehouse facility after
        manufacture.
--  Just-in-time software imaging, custom configuration and other final
assembly processes in the EU for systems destined for EU end customers,
ensuring use of the most current software version as well as enabling
rapid response to special end user needs such as different network
        controllers and host bus adapters.
--  Reliable EU availability for vendors with variable sales forecasts that
make it difficult to plan far enough ahead to take advantage of bulk
pallet overseas shipping rates for hardware systems built in the US.
Finished base systems can be warehoused at MBX's facility in The Netherlands for on-demand delivery to end customers as well as access to thousands of forward stocking depots around the world.

Customers building in the EU also have the same choice of base hardware platforms as those building in the US, including HP Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) servers offering full global support. That includes built-in compliance with global certification standards for easy worldwide sales, a global warranty on HP equipment that travels with the finished system, and HP technical support spanning more than 180 countries to expedite problem resolution.

Customers utilizing MBX's contract manufacturing services on either continent also gain the benefits of:

--  Easy API integration between their business software and MBX's via MBX's
REST API, making it possible to sync ordering, fulfillment, inventory
and billing information between systems without placing integration
        responsibilities on the customer's staff.
--  A unique pay-by-the-month subscription option that eliminates capital
outlays, inventory commitments, the risk of obsolete inventory, and
other hardware-related overhead. The program, called MBX Clear, is
particularly valuable for SaaS ISVs needing an on-premise hardware
deployment option, allowing them to bill software and hardware on one
        consolidated monthly invoice.
    --  A full-featured password-protected online customer portal enabling
customers to monitor manufacturing status of any order, track global
inventory, set inventory reorder points, manage all logistics including
shipping and RMAs, and access a complete history of all orders and other
        activity, and more.
MBX will be exhibiting at Stand #F14 at the IP EXPO Europe 2015 conference that opens October 7 in London.
