The T400 series combine best-in-class audio and range with rugged designs that stand up to the elements as well as provide everyday reliability. The radios provide peace of mind to adventurers whose travels take them outside mobile phone service areas.( )Larger function buttons highlight the new look that also includes ergonomic grips and a new choice of colors. The Motorola TALKABOUT T400 series rates an International Protection rating of 54 (IP54), a weatherproof standard that means the units will withstand rain, snow and other weather hazards. The series' dual power option offers a choice to use the included nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) rechargeable batteries or supply three AA batteries.
The T460 and T465 models' push-to-talk power boost option can extend the radios' transmission ranges by increasing the transmitter power output, while conserving battery life when no power boost is needed.
The TALKABOUT T400 series keeps safety and emergency preparedness at hand with access to seven National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Environment Canada (EC) weather channels, as well as four very-high-frequency (VHF) channels that receive continuous broadcasts of local and regional weather updates.
The T460 and T465 models also feature an emergency alert button that will transmit a siren that serves as an alert to call for help. For unexpected power outages and nighttime adventures, users will appreciate the built-in light-emitting-diode (LED) flashlight.
