D-Link Announces New 'D-View 7' Network Management System

Web-Based Network Management System Completely Redesigned and Free for up to 25 Nodes and Two Probes

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., July 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- D-Link today announced D-View 7, the newest version of its SNMP Network Management System (NMS), capable of supporting large numbers of devices including smart and managed switches, wireless access points, and wireless controllers. D-View 7 is a web-based NMS designed to effectively manage device monitoring, configuration and troubleshooting. The web-based design of D-View 7 allows users to manage a network without the need of installing client software. Users can access D-View 7 with a browser anytime and from anywhere as long as they are connected with the Internet.

"D-View has been redesigned to utilize a more streamlined server and probe architecture," said Steven Olen, director of product marketing, D-Link Systems, Inc. "Each component has a fundamental role, and they work together to give network administrators a greater level of control and management ability over the network."

With server-probe architecture, data collection across complex networks is greatly simplified. Monitoring and configuring multiple devices at remote locations, across the Internet, or behind a NAT is no longer an issue. Remotely deployed probes will automatically tunnel home, allowing for the management of devices that cannot be directly accessed using standard SNMP. When a device is selected for management, D-View 7 probes will relay the command to the devices and then report back its data to the D-View 7 server.

In addition to supporting D-Link switches, access points, and controllers, D-View 7 also can manage third-party devices. D-View 7 can check the health status of these devices, issue CLI commands, and perform standard management and monitoring. Combined with the new D-View 7 graphical dashboard, network administrators can get near real-time feedback on the status of their network.

D-View 7 is a free download which provides support for 25 nodes and two probes. For larger networks, additional nodes and probes can be added by purchasing license upgrades, which are available in increments of 25, 50 and 100 for nodes, and five and 25 for probes.

D-View 7 is currently available for download. Additional information can be found at dview.dlink.com.
