Synaptics Brings Natural ID Technology to Sharp's Newest Flagship Smartphone
Latest Fingerprint Sensor Solution Delivers Authentication and Security
SAN JOSE, Calif., June 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Synaptics Inc. (NASDAQ: SYNA), the leading developer of human interface solutions, today announced that Sharp has selected its industry-leading Natural ID(TM) fingerprint sensor to provide secure authentication for its latest flagship smartphone device, the AQUOS ZETA SH-03G. Having recently reached more than 200 million shipments of its fingerprint ID sensor technology, this latest shipment with Sharp reinforces Synaptics' strength, scalability and leadership in the biometrics market through its innovative authentication solutions for global OEM partners.
Selected as part of NTT DOCOMO, INC's newest lineup of smartphone devices for the Japanese market, the Sharp AQUOS ZETA SH-03G complies with FIDO's latest industry standard, UAF 1.0, delivered through Synaptics' Natural ID sensor, which utilizes unique technology to enable fingerprint authentication that can be done locally for increased data security.
