Dacuda Releases World's Smallest Wireless Scanner To The Global Public

Following a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign, PocketScan is giving anyone the ability to scan anything at any time and immediately turn text and tables into editable content.

SAN FRANCISCO, June 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Dacuda launched its groundbreaking PocketScan product to the public today, making the world's smallest wireless scanner available to users across the globe. The limited Kickstarter edition of PocketScan is now available on shop.dacuda.com. Until July 19th, a limited amount of PocketScans will be sold at $99 instead of $169 as a special launch promotion.

The public launch happens exactly one year after PocketScan's wildly successful Kickstarter campaign, which flew past its $50,000 goal and raised $542,732 in June 2014, making it one of the most successful projects in Kickstarter's history. Dacuda has since completed the campaign and shipped PocketScans to thousands of backers worldwide, receiving rave reviews from early customers - nearly 90% of all users would recommend it to their friends. Now, anyone can buy a PocketScan and begin transforming the way they work, study, and create.

"This thing is bloody amazing - I use it every day to scan in roughs for my illustrations," said Hamish McDonald, a Kickstarter backer. "The other day I scanned in a recipe, and was stunned to find the Optical Character Recognition hit 100% accuracy. I have never ever seen OCR that good," he adds.  Other Kickstarter backers are just as excited, with additional comments flooding in from PocketScan early adopters: "I like it. I'm in a school of 70 teachers and spreading the word," "great text recognition - makes studying a lot easier,"  "mindblowing product," and "I am proud to have backed you on Kickstarter."

The possibilities are endless for what PocketScan can be used for. Favorite recipes can be scanned and personalized, works in foreign languages can easily be translated and read out loud, antique pictures, and those that are too big for traditional scanners can easily be cataloged and treasured. This all from a handheld scanner that is barely larger than a business card.

PocketScan is also a productive office tool, producing high-quality scans and offers powerful text recognition that is ideal for Word and Excel, magically transforming text or tables on paper into editable content. The size makes the device an ideal companion for laptops, tablets and smartphones and is compatible with Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, connecting to your device via Bluetooth.

"Many thanks again to thousands of Kickstarter backers, who have helped to make PocketScan a truly unique device and who use it on a daily basis," says Dr. Peter Weigand, CEO of Dacuda, "We are now looking forward to providing PocketScan to anyone who missed our Kickstarter campaign and wants to work smarter and be more creative."
