Global Switch Becomes the First Large Scale Data Centre Provider in Europe and Asia-Pacific to Achieve Key ISO Certifications Across its Entire Portfolio

LONDON, May 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

Global Switch, the leading owner and operator of large scale, multi tenanted carrier
neutral data centres in Europe and Asia Pacific, has announced that it has successfully
completed the next stage of its continual improvement programme with its data centres
having now achieved certification to four key standards for data centres: quality
management (ISO 9001:2008), environmental management (ISO 14001:2004), health and safety
management (OHSAS 18001:2007) and information security management (ISO 27001:2013*).

Global Switch owns and operates ten data centres in eight locations in Europe and
Asia-Pacific with around 3,200,000 sq ft. The ISO certification programme covered all of
Global Switch's data centres and followed the launch of its Critical Environments
Programme in 2012, which by combining industry and Global Switch best practices created a
world class standardised and structured approach to its operational environment.

Global Switch is committed to maintaining its market leading position and to growing
its business as markets develop. In order to achieve this objective, Global Switch focuses
on delivering best in class services to its customers, including some of the world's
leading and most forward thinking companies. These programmes form an integral part of the
company's ability to adapt, grow and continuously improve. Independent companies have, and
will continue to, audited and assessed Global Switch's capabilities, processes and systems
required by each of the four standards on an annual basis.

ISO 9001:2008 defines a quality management system a company needs in order help manage
a business effectively and to incorporate best practice methodology. Global Switch seeks
to provide a high quality service to its customers that meets and exceeds their
expectations as well as robust critical environment processes and procedures that minimise
risk and maximise uptime.

ISO 14001:2004 requires an environmental management system which enables a company to
manage its environmental responsibilities. Global Switch is committed to reducing the
impact of all of its data centres on the environment through using energy efficiently,
reducing carbon emissions and providing green energy solutions to its customers.

OHSAS 18001:2007 defines the best practice requirements for occupational health and
safety management. It provides a framework for companies to identify, manage and therefore
minimise risks to their customers, staff, and other stakeholders. As an owner and operator
of mission critical environments, Global Switch has health and safety management at the
core of its operational best practices.

ISO 27001:2013 provides a systematic approach to security information management. It
assists companies in identifying, analysing and addressing its information security risks.
With the highly sensitive nature of data centres, Global Switch is committed to providing
a highly secure environment and in keeping assets, including people, processes and IT
systems, safe and secure.

With these certifications now achieved across Global Switch's portfolio, customers
will have the additional confidence that Global Switch complies with and operates the
highest standards in these areas. Regular monitoring will ensure a consistent level of
quality in the future.

John Corcoran, Executive Chairman and CEO of Global Switch said, "We understand that
the success of our business is driven by the continual improvement in the quality of the
service we offer our customers, our impact on the environment, the regard for our
employees, and the constant management of business risks. Completing certification of
these four standards at each of our data centres at the scale we operate is a great
achievement that reconfirms our absolute commitment to providing world class data centre
solutions."
