TOB cable is made using heavy gauge wires that can handle the higher current. TOB heavy gauge wires also offer some potential future upgrades such as laptop charging for example.
Maximum Data Transfer
Using USB 3.1, TOB can transfer data up to 10 Gbps and is backwards compatible. With TOB, your cable is no longer the limiting factor.

The physical limitations of electrical cables prevent speeds in excess of 10 Gigabits per second.
