CNET Brings CES 2015 To Consumers with Comprehensive Coverage of Top Show News and Tech Reviews, Live Video Streams of Major Press Conferences and CNET's "The Next Big Thing" SuperSession with Industry Innovators

CNET Presents Its 13th Annual "The Next Big Thing" SuperSession on Augmented and Virtual Realities and Panels on the Smart Home and Connected Car

Entrepreneurs Compete for a Chance at a "First Look" Video on CNET's Tech West Stage

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CNET, the world's largest and most trusted online source of consumer technology news and reviews, will bring consumers right to the CES show floor, offering real-time coverage of major press conferences, interviews with newsmakers, expert analysis of the top tech trends, products and companies to watch and CNET's daily "Must-See" picks. Complete coverage of this year's conference, which runs from Jan. 6, 2015 - Jan. 9, 2015, will be available at CNET's dedicated CES site, cnet.com/ces/.

CNET is also hosting its popular "The Next Big Thing" SuperSession, which will take an in-depth look at augmented reality, virtual reality and the amazing futures they will enable. CNET editors will also lead discussion panels with industry innovators on what lies ahead for the smart home and connected car.

First Looks at Tech West

CNET will have a second stage, located at Tech West, to showcase the best new products and apps at CES 2015. Innovators have the opportunity to pitch their products to a CNET editor and earn a "First Look" video session that will be featured on CNET.com. This is CNET's first appearance at Tech West, an expo that focuses on high-growth technologies such as robotics, sensors and fitness technology.

The Next Big Thing SuperSession: New Realities

Now in its 13(th) year, CNET's "The Next Big Thing" SuperSession will explore the near and real future of virtual and augmented realities and what they mean for gaming, entertainment and daily life.

CNET Editors-at-Large Brian Cooley and Tim Stevens are moderating the panel, which features Jaunt CEO Jens Christensen, Oculus Founder Palmer Luckey, Razorfish Chief Technology Officer Ray Velez and Technical Illusion Co-Founder and Chief Hardware Engineer Jeri Ellsworth.

The Next Big Thing takes place on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 at 3:30 PM, PT in Room N257, North Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Welcoming The Smart Home

As smart appliances become readily available, many consumers have questions about their impact on daily life. However, CNET's knowledge of this market has demonstrated that the more exposure consumers have to connected gadgets, the more they see their potential. The panel will explore what needs to happen to drive mass adoption; how demographics and cultural traditions play into the future of the smart home; and which major shifts will arrive first.

Lindsey Turrentine, Editor-in-Chief of CNET, and Rich Brown, Executive Editor of Appliance Reviews, will debate these questions with ADT Corporation Chief Innovation Officer Arthur Orduna, The Home Depot Director of Strategic Business Development - Home Automation Amanda Parrilli, IFTTT CEO Linden Tibbets, SmartThings Founder and CEO Alex Hawkinson and Quirky CEO Ben Kaufman.

The Smart Home Insights panel takes place on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015 at 10:15 AM, PT in Room N253, North Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Getting Into The Connected Car

In-car 4G service will drive more meaningful digital media and services into time spent on the road. Tim Stevens, CNET Editor-at-Large, will host a conversation about how 4G in cars and enhanced smart phone connectivity is changing the auto industry, the content industry and the way our dashboards look, feel and function.

Hear from CNET's panel of automotive industry experts, including Ford Motor Company Executive Director Don Butler, Continental North America President Jeff Klei, GM's Global Connected Customer Experience CTO Tim Nixon and Panasonic President Tom Gebhardt.

The Connected Car panel takes place on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015 at 1:00 PM, PT in Room N253, North Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
