Gecko, A Multi-function Motion And Tracking Device, Is Now Available For Purchase At Amazon.com

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The multi-functional smartphone accessory, Gecko, is now available at amazon.com/geckotag. Gecko uses Bluetooth Low Energy to enhance your iOS smartphone's usage in numerous ways by acting as a track and find tag for anything to which it is attached.

One can utilize Gecko as a smart leash to one's valuables such as a phone, keys, purse or laptop. In the event that valuables are left behind, the app will send a notification of their whereabouts as long as the Gecko is attached. In addition, the user can simply press a button on the app to make the Gecko beep and track the misplaced items. If you are looking for your smartphone you can make it ring by shaking the Gecko tag, even if placed on silent mode.

Gecko can also be used as a luggage tag, which can work two ways. The user can put the tag in do-not-touch mode and it will send an alert if someone moves the bag. Secondly, as the user is waiting in the baggage claim area, they will receive an alert when the bag arrives.

Gecko is about the size of a quarter, the device powered by Bluetooth Smart technology, removable coin cell battery with up to a year's worth of juice, depending on usage, as well as a buzzer and LED light for alerts. Multiple Gecko tags can be paired to one smartphone. The device works with iOS 7.0 or later devices and is now available in a sleek black finish for $34.99 USD each.

Gecko is quite versatile and has other utilities such as triggering smart actions on the smartphone with a simple shake, controlling music playback on the smartphone, or taking a selfie on the smartphone via Bluetooth Low Energy connected iOS smart devices.

Gecko was originally launch funded on IndieGogo.com last year by Connovate, a design house based out of Bangalore, India. The company in the meanwhile has been acquired and integrated by PaaS specialist Hubble Connected Ltd.

"The network of connected devices is growing exponentially," said Dino Lalvani, Chairman of Hubble Connected. "We believe Connovate's team and technologies are among the most innovative. The investment will allow Connovate to expand its product offering, while Hubble continues its growth as a leading platform provider for IoT." Going forward the Gecko tag will be part of Hubble's connected home solutions.

Gecko is now available for purchase at amazon.com/geckotag home automation market place.
