Racklive Unveils RL-4216-3, 4U-3Node Server Platform, at SC14 to Lead Charge in the Big Data and Analytics Arenas

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Nov. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today at the SC14 Conference, Racklive unveiled its RL-4216-3, 4U-3Node server platform. The RL-4216-3 platform was purpose-built leveraging direct input from key strategic customers, leading the charge in the big data and analytics arenas.

Each 4U-3Node platform houses an impressive 48, high-capacity, 3.5 inch hard drives.  In addition, there are three independent, dual-socket system boards, supporting E52600 v2 processors, with up to 256GB of DDR3 memory, and an embedded LSI 3108 12 Gbps storage controller.

The Racklive engineering team leveraged the team's decades of shared experience, designing and optimizing highly efficient "roll-in-rack" data center solutions, and managed to mitigate the support and operational trade-offs common when deploying such dense converged platforms.  Despite the distinctive minimal physical server footprint, each storage drive remains individually hot-swappable. Further, a highly-efficient, shared, rectified DC power solution, providing advanced monitoring and load distribution capabilities, was implemented to provide both full-power subsystem redundancy, and ultra-efficient power distribution.

While the RL-4216-3 was purpose-built with big data analytics solutions in mind, this platform is robust and powerful enough to exceed expectations for much broader solution sets, ranging from enterprise data warehousing to cloud deployments and beyond.

Stop by the Racklive booth (#959) at SC14 for a demonstration of RL-4216-3, 4U-3Node server platform in action, and learn how Racklive solutions keep critical data close at hand -- at less than half the cost of competitive platforms.
