Intersil will demonstrate HD surveillance local-site transport using its digital video devices embedded in HD cameras and digital video recorder (DVR) equipment from different suppliers.

Intersil is showing a demonstration of Sony-, ZeeAnn- and Pixelworks-based HD cameras using its embedded TW6872 HD-SDI video transmitter sending digital video over coaxial cable to the TW6874 quad HD-SDI receiver embedded in a 4NSYS DVR. Intersil's TW6872 and TW6874 offer video surveillance system manufacturers an end-to-end solution enabling picture perfect, latency free video at more than 2x the distance of traditional HD-SDI solutions.
The TW6872/4 devices use SMPTE VC-2 based Dirac compression to enable HD video transmission at cable distances of 300+ meters, offering robust operation in real-world installations. The TW6872 triple-rate HD-SDI video transmitter and TW6874 quad HD-SDI video receiver deliver the full benefits of HD quality without requiring expensive cabling upgrades. The ICs are designed to conform to the SMPTE standards for SD, HD and 3G serial digital transmission and offer an unprecedented level of integration to enable reduced system costs for video surveillance cameras, DVRs and video mixers and switches.
