(http://www.ossiainc.com), the company behind the Cota remote wire-free charging technology, today announced it has been awarded its fifth patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office: U.S. Patent No. 8,854,176. Ossia's latest patent pertains to the capabilities of the company's Cota wireless charging system to self-charge batteries through the use of 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz focused microwave energy. Batteries of any shape, including standard and custom-sized batteries, can be charged wirelessly using Cota.
The Cota technology is designed to target and charge many devices simultaneously, regardless of whether a device is stationary or moving. With an effective charging radius of 30 feet, a single Cota charging station can charge the battery-operated devices in every room of an average home or office suite.
