Great Parents Academy Launches Motivate Platform Within LoveMath(TM) Application

Edtech Startup Champions Positive Reinforcement, Secures Attraction Partnerships to Advance Math Education

ATLANTA, Aug. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Edtech startup Great Parents Academy today announces the launch of its Motivate platform, which is integrated into the company's web-based educational math program LoveMath(TM). Motivate is the final feature released in LoveMath program and rounds out a three-tier designed to teach, engage and motivate children in kindergarten through fifth grades.

LoveMath's Motivate platform leverages parental rewards, along with games and commercial rewards, to provide children with positive reinforcement based on achievement and effort within the curriculum.

Decades of research shows that parental involvement leads to higher grades, test scores and graduation rates and school attendance, according to the national Parent Teacher Association.

"Research also shows that a random sense of timing for rewards is effective in a gamified learning environment," says Cynthia Morneweck, chief operating officer of Great Parents Academy. "We believe parents have the greatest understanding of what best motivates their children, so the platform not only gives options, but also allows parents flexibility in terms of the frequency and variety of incentives rewarded to their child."

Examples of Motivate Reward Options

--  Help Choose and Cook Dinner
--  Mom or Dad Cleans your Room
--  Extra Snuggle Time with Mom or Dad
    --  After-School Ice Cream
Aside from approximately 150 parent-initiated reward options, Great Parents Academy has also sourced commercial partners for the Motivate platform and continues to expand its base of rewards from attractions and businesses. One early partner is the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta.

"The Georgia Aquarium is proud to partner with Great Parents Academy to provide children "Total Ticket" rewards to celebrate the children's success in learning math," says Brian Davis, vice president, Education and Training at the Georgia Aquarium.
