Lucid and ASUS Announce Desktop PC Power Optimization

ASUS ROG G20 Desktop in Conjunction with Lucid VirtuWatt to Fully Power-Down Discrete GPU and Reduce Noise

NETANYA, Israel, June 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

Lucidlogix(R) [http://www.lucidlogix.com ] (Lucid), pioneers in multi GPU
virtualization technologies, and ASUS [https://www.asus.com/us ], the leader in PC
solutions, today announced the integration of Lucid VirtuWatt software
[http://lucidlogix.com/products/virtuwatt ] inside select models of ASUS desktops
[https://www.asus.com/us/Desktops ]. VirtuWatt will automatically and seamlessly power-off
discrete GPU when not required, and power-on again when needed. This dramatically
minimizes power draw, maximizes system life and reduces noise levels making the ASUS ROG
G20 [https://www.asus.com/us/Desktops ] the ideal solution for ultimate marathon gaming
session.

The recently launched ASUS G20, an extremely powerful compact gaming desktop PC, which
the Eco Energy Mode integrate VirtuWatt, Lucid's eco-friendly GPU virtualization
technology into its new system, resulting in a more powerful, cost-efficient PC user
experience. In addition to extending overall system longevity, VirtuWatt dramatically
reduces power consumption, noise and heat. This new integration of the field-proven
VirtuWatt solution enables reduced power consumption, noise and heat by electrical
power-down of the discrete GPU. The VirtuWatt solution seamlessly switches processing
workloads between the discrete and integrated GPUs, resulting in optimal use of resources
while maintaining maximal performance when required. Integration of the VirtuWatt solution
includes a simple modification of the motherboard or VGA card, which is included in the
VirtuWatt reference design. The technology enables gamers to do tasks without VGA
performance such as downloading their favorite games without much energy consumption.

"Lucid is recognized as number one in the industry and their solution is precisely
what we were looking for," said Mr. Joe Hsieh, Corporate Vice President & General Manager
of ASUS Desktop Systems. "Lucid GPU virtualization technology translates into enhanced PC
performance and it's cost-efficient. With Lucid inside, we are confident that we are
bringing a viable and exciting new product to the market."

Systems running powerful games and professional applications, such Computer Aided
Design (CAD), Digital Content Creation (DCC) and video editing, rely on high-performance,
power-hungry discrete GPUs to handle significantly heavy loads. When the graphics
processor remains idle, although it continues to draw energy from the power source, it is
at this stage that VirtuWatt [http://lucidlogix.com/products/virtuwatt ] shuts down the
discrete GPU when not in use, keeping it cool, and dramatically reducing the power draw.

"We are especially proud to be part of an ASUS product and to embedding our technology
into a system designed by a global market leader," said Elad Dubzinski, COO, Lucidlogix.
"Based on our close cooperation to date, we welcome this opportunity of partnering with
ASUS to once again change the desktop system game now - and well into the future."

Reference design is currently available from Lucid.
