The Dolphin Tech 2000 (T-24040) is a technical-style dive light kit that delivers a powerful 50 degree 2000 lumens beam, ideal for wrecks or reefs. In the research and development pipeline for the last year, the Dolphin Tech 2000 is the result of a collaboration with Watershot Inc., the renowned underwater cameras, housing and lighting equipment manufacturer whose products are recognized as the go-to gear for professional underwater film shooting worldwide.
ScubaLab raves about this light: "Careful where you shine this light when night diving, or you'll quickly become unpopular. It's blazing, with a hot-spot meter reading higher than any others in our test." Divers can select between three power settings for normal use, or a strobe function for emergencies. The compact light head uses a pair of powerful LEDs, and is powered on and off with a unique, single push-button switch which also indicates three different battery status color alerts: green when battery is fully charged, yellow when half full and red when in need of charging.
More features include a hand-mounted holster kit which keeps the light head securely in place, leaving the fingers free for other tasks. Two rechargeable lithium-ion battery packs are available, with ratings to 490 feet. The smaller 4-cell battery delivers almost 2 hours of use on high, and 7 and-a-half-hours on low. The 8-cell battery burns twice as long.
