The office tech specialist's newest technology is designed to meet the demands of
today's mobile savvy workforce - so office functions like printing, digitising and virtual
conferencing are more accessible.

Speaking ahead of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Simon Stones, Senior
Manager, S&S Commercial from Brother International Europe (BIE), said: "We are making
giant leaps to ensure technology is available when and where it is needed. Taking this to
the extreme - children at venues across Japan have communicated in real-time with an
astronaut during a space mission, using our OmniJoin web conferencing platform[1] -
proving just how powerful today's office technology can be.

"Mobile technology has revolutionised the office and continues to move at a pace. It
has brought unprecedented freedom for business to be conducted at a time and place that
suits - but many still rely on the traditional office for a number of day-to-day tasks.
Our latest products are designed with connectivity and mobility in mind, to enhance
on-the-go workflow."

Phil Sargeant, program director of IDC's Western European Imaging Hardware Devices and
Document Solutions group commented: "The increase in mobile device usage, coupled with the
proliferation of cloud and Big Data technologies, has significantly changed the way in
which data is created, accessed and printed. Consumerisaton of IT is adding to the demand
for mobile office functions - with nine per cent of printed pages coming from smartphones
within small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) alone[2]."

Simon Stones from Brother's European headquarters adds: "The essential step is mobile
technology's collaboration with the rest of the workplace. Gadgets have to join up, so
business tools are compatible across workflows."

Brother will demonstrate some of its latest technology at the Mobile World Congress
(stand 7i83), including its OmniJoin cloud-based web conferencing platform, pocket-sized
printers, mobile scanners and AiRScouter head-mounted virtual display.
