In-memory database pioneer Altibase announces today its plans to use the Intel®Distribution for Apache Hadoop for big data processing and analysis.

Altibase has expanded on its technologies with the industry's only true hybrid database that features its MOVE(TM) technology. Altibase has revolutionized the way data is managed by marrying the power of RAM and the storage capacity of physical disk in 1 database: 1+1=1(TM).

NEW YORK, Feb. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Altibase is widely recognized for its innovation and maturity with over 500 enterprise clients and thousands of deployments. For 15 years, Altibase has distinguished itself as the database of choice for mission critical applications. Altibase's HybridDB(TM) database management system has been chosen by the most scrutinizing organizations in the world.  DBAs can persist data in memory alone, in disk alone, or a combination of both in a single database.

Altibase offers absolute, real time ACID compliance, 99.999% High Availability, and flexible deployment options. Its products are used in a vast array of use cases because of its intrinsic ability to handle speed and storage volume with ease. Altibase is fully SQL:1999 compliant and supports all common interfaces.

Unlike other in-memory database vendors, Altibase is not restricted by the size limitations of RAM alone. It can auto-extend when more RAM is added, and since it also has physical disk in the same unified engine, data size is not an issue. Altibase clearly outperforms disk-resident databases by multiples while maintaining their benefits.

"Altibase is working with Intel to deliver the best technologies and provide clients with more flexibility and ammunition to tackle growing data management demands." -Chris Chung, CEO Altibase Inc.

In-Memory databases are well known for extreme performance. However, the storage capabilities of conventional on-disk databases are still required for today's Big Data processing. Altibase is working with Intel to address this challenge with a new solution offering featuring a bridge between HyrbidDB and the Intel® Distribution for Apache Hadoop (Intel® Distribution) to enable users to do real time, high performance database processing from its HybridDB database management system while still being able to scale and store indefinitely using the Intel Distribution.

"By pairing the Intel Distribution for Apache Hadoop with the in-memory technologies provided by Altibase, enterprises are able to achieve high performance data processing within a protected and high performance environment," said Jobi George, director of Big Data Software Product & Channels for Intel's Datacenter Software Division.
