Sisvel To Launch New License Program Based On DSL Standard Essential Patents From Panasonic
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Sisvel International S.A. ("Sisvel") announced today the launch of a new licensing program for patents acquired from Panasonic System Networks Co., Ltd., a division of Panasonic Corporation, and which are essential to DSL technology standards; specifically the G.994.1 standard, which relates to handshake procedures for digital subscriber line (DSL) transceivers.
"In Sisvel's view, this patent portfolio reflects the most significant contribution to the development of the G.994.1 standard and we thank Panasonic System Networks Co., Ltd. for the opportunity to ensure that its work within this space is properly recognized," said Mr. Sandro Spina, Licensing Director of the Sisvel Group.
Licenses under these patents will be offered on reasonable, and non-discriminatory, or RAND, conditions.
