Finally, a wireless pen that syncs notes to your iPhone, designed by Whipsaw
SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Whipsaw Inc., the highly acclaimed design firm that creates innovative products for companies around the globe announced the release of their Livescribe 3 pen design, designed for Livescribe. Already a big hit, Livescribe 3 is a "wireless ink pen" that instantly syncs your handwritten notes with your iPhone or iPad.
A Livescribe 3 app then allows you to share your digitized notes via e-mail, SMS, AirDrop, Dropbox or Evernote. It also records audio at the time of writing a note, handing off the recording to your iPhone when you hit the record button on the Livescribe app, then syncs the results with your scribbled notes.
Whipsaw also designed its predecessor, the Echo pen, but this time around Whipsaw made the Livescribe 3 more like a high-end pen, complete with sexy flowing forms, micro diamond patterns, chrome steel details, and a polished black polycarbonate body. Simplicity and ubiquitous appeal was the design goal. To turn it on, just twist the textured middle ring which also withdraws a ballpoint nib. An LED on the clip indicates power, connection, and battery status. A capacitive nub on the top of the pen is used as a touch screen stylus, and underneath this nub is a microUSB port. On the front tip of the pen is a small camera that registers the pens location on Livescribe dot paper so one can tap on a note later to hear audio at the time of writing.
